They’re just Houses

You have as much choice choosing your family as you do deciding what happens on the other side of your fence. This project started out in response to the mass deforestation taking place in my backyard to accomodate an ambitious housing development. At the end of the day after the workers would leave, I would make my way over to the other property and investigate their damage. I knew I would find the impersonal machinery that was responsible for so much destruction and my increasing lack of privacy. What I did not expect to find were personal belongings the previous owners had left behind. I was intrigued to learn more about the neighbors I never had a chance to meet. Unfortunately, three weeks into the project someone broke in my house and stole my camera and laptop, among other things. These images survived simply because I had copies on my phone.
